My Soak Style August 2017 Winner’s bathroom tour

We’ve received some amazing images from our lovely customers for our My Soak Style campaign during August. There were so many gorgeous bathrooms filled with soak.com products and we struggled to choose one winner! However, there was a stand out bathroom this month and we just need to show it off!

Debs Hale from Norwich grabbed our attention with the most adorable photo of her pooch Wilbur in front of the gorgeous Evelyn Freestanding Bath. She introduced us to her bathroom with the perfect combination of traditional and contemporary styles with a complementary colour scheme.

Debs has won £200 worth of vouchers and is also the first title holder of My Soak Style. I’m sure you’ll all agree that this is a very worthy winner of the crown and we can’t wait to get stuck in and find out all about the bathrooms! We’ll leave you with what Debs had to say about her dream bathroom…

"As you can see, the bathroom really was not a very pleasant place to relax and unwind at the end of a hard day’s work.

Prior to me purchasing my home 3 years ago, “a new kitchen and bathroom” were supposedly installed (not that any self respecting tradesman would admit to this!) This was one of the top priorities to change, but as it was functional, I wanted to make sure I could afford the best bathroom and kitchen I could. Plus, it all needed renovating at the same time.

Through lots of research and hours of trawling the internet, soak.com won the battle of the bathrooms, as the products were exactly what I was looking for.

Victorian feel with modern twists

We live in a Victorian terraced where, fortunately most of the features remain, so the whole design of our home is based around trying to maintain the Victorian feel, with modern twists thrown in here and there.

We’ve achieved this through the colour choice on the walls, a blend of new and old accessories and art work or furniture. We hope this is reflected in the bathroom!

The house has been slow to renovate, with the whole of downstairs now completed. Priority was the lounge and dining room, as I knew that a whole bathroom and kitchen refit and renovation would be unattainable after initially moving in to our first home. Finally, after 3 years of having dreamt how it would look (with the many ideas both from a practical and design perspective) we finally have our more than perfect bathroom!

As a Victorian Terraced, the seamless flow of the bathroom on from the kitchen was a really important feature and therefore a feature bath was a must! This can be seen from the moment you walk in the front door.

With Victorian subway tiles and cedar grout as a backdrop and walnut flooring beneath, the beautiful freestanding bath and taps are complemented and leap out at you. Let's just say this is our favourite item purchased from soak.com. My 3 year old loves the bath! However, the radiator comes a close second....

Why I chose soak.com

As a whole, my experience with soak.com was fantastic, from ease of ordering to great customer service when I experienced an issue with the delivery of my larger items. This was quickly rectified and a full refund on delivery costs was made. Staff were professional and courteous. The products are of good quality and exactly as described online. As a result, I have recommended several products to friends.

My top advice when renovating a bathroom

Wilbur and Bertie approve too!

If I could give any advice on a top spec renovation it would be to always do your research about what you want your end product to look like. Research, research, research! Also, measure up and then measure again…

Finally, make sure you find reputable tradesmen to complete the work and pay for the best workmanship - not the cheapest. Always discuss your plans to the finest detail and budget properly with a contingency - just in case!"
